Vertov memproklamirkan keunggulan dari nilai mata kamera yang berdiri sendiri ( 'Kino-Eye') di atas mata manusia. Ia dengan jelas melihat bahwa ia adalah bagian dari orang (dwi), kamera sebagai sebuah jenis mesin yang tidak bersalah, bisa merekam tanpa penyimpangan atau pertimbangan estetik berlebih-lebihan. ia seperti berkata, (operator manusia nya yang bersalah). Karena dunia sebenar-benar adalah Lensa, kamera adalah suatu mesin yang bisa disempurnakan sedikit-demi sedikit untuk menangkap dunia dalam keseluruhannya dan mengorganisir kekacauan visual ke dalam suatu koheren dan himpunan objektif dari gambar-gambar. Pada waktu yang sama Vertov tajam untuk menyatakan prinsip Kino-Eye nya itu adalah suatu metoda dari ' komunis'.
